Have you seen track cycling at the Olympics and wondered what it would be like to fly around a velodrome? Perhaps you’ve given it a go as part of the road novice program and would like to give it another go.
We’re pleased to announce that Vikings will be running a pilot track novice program to introduce competent road riders to riding and racing on the track.
The program will run over six weeks, taking you from being new to the track to being ready to race club nights or maybe Christmas carnivals. It will run on Saturday mornings from 9 November – 14 December at 11:00-12:30 at the Narrabundah velodrome.
Due to the velodrome’s steep banking, only track bikes can be used. If you have a track bike, you’re welcome to use it. If not, we have a selection of club bikes for participants to use.
To nominate for the track novice program, please provide the following details to membership@vikingscycling.org.au by 25 October:
- Your name
- Your CA license number
- Do you have your own track bike?
- If you need a club bike, what size is your road bike (top tube)?
The program is free for Vikings members with an option to purchase Vikings kit at a discounted price included in the program. Non-Vikings members just require a small $5 contribution each session.
